trying to enroll in twit101

Griffith University in Australia have added a Twitter component to a journalism course that teaches students how to gather information and relay it.  Thus, the course is helping students become micro-blog savvy believing that Twitter is an integral part of the future of news reporting, as proven by its use overseas in Iraq.  Reminds me of this Parsons course, which graded students upon their Internet fame through personal branding.  The CurrentTV video on their front page is insightful, too.

bikey blockers stem

hoooooooollyyyyyyy shit. A couple of Pratt U professors created this block chunk of machined aluminum as a bike stem to make for perhaps the sturdiest design available for it.  It looks damn kewl too.  It looks nice and clean, especially with those bullhorn bars. Available to be manufactured on demand for $89 buckz, but if you’re one of the first 5 to buy, the code “agoodword” will get you 25 percentages off.  This is relatively new, so jump on it.

a harvard man..

30 Rock character, Topher, would be shittin’ himself if he wasn’t fictional.  Ivy League school Harvard is announcing that they are licensing their collegiate name to a new fashion line.  It’ll be 60′s prep inspired, based off what actual students wore on the campus then.  It would be interesting if this is some sort of relief on the school’s budget.  The line and the general idea is somewhat exciting since it’s anything but the ‘sweatshirt/license plate/beanie/i hate any other school’ bullshit merch.
