hawty de la semaine – jean seberg

“To add to my problems, I love her.”

hawty of teh week – victoria bergsman

Chances are you’ve heard her youthful guest vocals on PB&J’s “Young Folks” record, or her wonderful former band, The Concretes.  These days she’s been working on her solo project, Taken By Trees.  The second LP recently came out called ‘East of Eden’ and it’s spiritual and geographically influenced (Pakistan), making for a very cohesive and consistent album (also features a Panda Bear collab for you fanatics).  Included in this post is New Order’s video for “Temptation” which stars the Swedish lady herself…it’s widely known as “Temptation of Victoria” for a reason.

hawty of teh week – neo-hippie chairlift chick

Caroline Polachek, vocalist of Brooklyn psych synth band Chairlift is this week’s choice because she directed their new video (“Ceiling Wax”, see previous mv update post below).  She also gets to model Marc Jacobs with her boys as part of a Saks Fifth campaign where they also played in one of the company’s new NY stores.  Theres a string of videos of these chic kids doing random things in MJ wear. It’s not entertaining, but we all gots to pay the mortgage…

hawt(ies) of teh week – teg & sar

It’s a cheat post ’cause I got two hawties this time, but it’s okay because they are sisters and in the same band? It’s been longggggggg awaited for some new material from these girlies so I’m happy to hear that stereogum has premiered a new DJ Tiesto track featuring them.  Go to the page to listen and here’s a quirky intro vid about the song.  It’s def not a conventional track for their intimate style.  DJ Tiesto feat. Tegan and Sara – “Feel it in my Bones”.

hawty of teh week – concussed alice glass

Insane in the brain electro-punk startlet, Alice Glass, is the first ‘hawty of the week’ because she’s a trooper.  What was supposed to be a fun rave at the ‘Hard Festival’ became a giant disaster and near riot.  In all the chaos, a riot cop was rumored to have kicked her in the head, causing a concussion.  Hope she’s alright now.
